Inaugurated in the year of 2007 "Oyster Opera" is done and run by G.S Gul who was honored national award by the Government of India to his effort for uplifting poor coastal folk by applying innovative ideas. He is the first Indian who farmed mussel on coir and parted this technology to the poor locals and now there are 6000 farmer's majority of them are women.

The remarkable enterprise of G.S Gul with oyster as his theme, also identified the tourism potential of the region and for the course of uplifting the socio-economic standards of village folk, he transformed to give the villagers an opportunity to break the shackles of unemployment and at the same time contributing this theme to the world of tourism, where mussel farming on coir, collection of abundant natural backwater resources as oysters and clams are done on daily basis identified by the Tourism Department of Kerala and appreciated by the visitors, he took a step further to include the cruising experience for the guests in mechanized and country boats to visit the island around. The resort is also blessed with some historical places nearby like Bekal Fort and Parassinikadavu Temple, Ayurvedic treatments, Coracle boat ride, Indoor and outdoor games, house boat and fun fishing gears were added to make this place a complete holiday getaway.

Facing the Fish pond to the East Mussel is a Laterite stone cottage with coconut grudges and hay thatched roof has a verandah, bedroom with twin bed and a combined toilet bath.

Oyster

Facing the Backwater Oyster is a Laterite stone cottage with coconut grudges and hay thatched roof has a verandah, bedroom with twin bed, attached toilet and open air bath.

Clam

This faces both fish pond and Back waters and is a Laterite stone cottage with coconut grudges and hay thatched roof has a verandah, bedroom with twin bed, attached toilet and open air bath.

Shrimp

This Faces Backwater and is a Laterite stone cottage with tiled roof and false ceiling has a verandah, air condition bedroom with twin bed, attached toilet and open air bath.

Crab

This Faces Backwater and is a Tented Cottage fixed on top of Laterite stone foundation is safe and secure with a verandah, 1 twin-bed room, and a combined toilet bath.

Float House

Bamboo walled cottage floating on top of floats within the fish pond consists of front and side verandah, 1 bed room with twin bed and a combined toilet bath. It floats itself in the 1.75 acres of fish pond where fishes like 'sea-bass, pearl spot, prawns', etc can be found galloping in the water. The gentle waves cradle the float house that makes your ride even more exciting.

Elevated House

This Cottage faces Backwater and is Built on top of casuarinas wooden poles elevated house lies almost 15 feet from ground. You get a clear view of the whole resort from such a height with the clean and calm backwater in your front. Walls made with flattened bamboo roofed with coconut grudges and hay consists of a verandah, 1 bed room with twin bed and a combined toilet bath.

All cottages are provided with 24 hours power(backed up with generator) and water, 2 easy chairs in verandah, 1 bedroom ceiling fan, 2 bedside lamps, 1 foir, 1 European closet with both toilet paper and jet spray pump, one hand wash basin along with soap, shampoo, oil, bath towel and a hand towel.
